Ideas on how to prepare and finish for exercise/ fitness
class or any activities/ or sport
Since this is very personal to each person, as well as,
dependent on each individuals tastes and preferences and tolerance. Remember to take this into account when choosing and trying different pre and post work out drinks.
Basic Water 1st
Yes water is essential first thing in the morning so drinking 8
ounces of water is a essential pre prep step. The body will be
prepped to take in food, prepares the joints for movement and
speeds the blood pressure back into awake mode.
That being said. My fave are the homemade types of Pre/
post workouts drinks.
Herb Roots
This includes whole ginger. Brewed the night before in a 2.4
quart sauce pan and boil filtered water 3/4 to the top and
place a whole ginger root with peel, the size of your hand,
with knife pre slice marks on the entire root. Brew for thirty
minutes and let cool. Then pour into 2 -32 ounce glass jars
along cut ginger roots. It’s spicy so it wakes the senses for
sure. In the summer drink cold and during winter warm in
sauce pan on the stove top in low heat until warm.
Sweeten to taste. (optional)
Vitamin Powders
B12 complex powder mixed with vitamin C powder in a 24
ounces bottle of choice, following the instruction of the
directions of the label on the container. Shake , shake and
juggle down. We all know we need are Bs which boost energy
and the Cs help convert to energy.
This recipe I learned from holistic doctor and acupuncturists
Dr. Kimberly Burke, of Peninsula Holistic Health in Burlingame
CA. It is proven delicious yet if drank throughout shake each time
as the powder does settle.
Home based ingredients
Then there is the typical but it does wonderfully: two
teaspoons of sweetener of choice (honey is a favorite), 1/8
sea salt, and a drop of lemon or fruit drop Essenes or
flavoring to one part water.
Other store bought are:
Coconut Water
My next favorite is coconut water it has a rich level of
electrolytes and nutrients with a mild sweet taste.
It’s the water of choice for this reason.
Electrolytes Drink
Vitamin Water. It is not extremely costly, doesn’t leave a
strong after taste. And can be found anywhere. Target sells
them by the pack.
Watermelon
Last but not least is pressed watermelon water. Watermelon
has high levels of vitamins, minerals and is a useful
electrolyte. Trader Joe’s sells theirs and you may find it in the
open refrigerator section.
So here’s the scoop on the inexpensive pre/ post work out
drink ideas. Go head and keep an eye out for more tips and
ideas.
